The Eco-Lodge IWIA is located in the Ecuadorian Rainforest Amazon in SAN JACINTO near by PUYO.
This traditional Shuar family is a native indigenous community of the Amazon.
This family has got 14 children. Since more than 20 years, they have been working with local
and national tour Agencies, welcoming tourists to stay in the Amazon, in an exceptional and
unique place. This is a new form of Tourism called EcoTourism or Responsible Tourism.
What is Ecotourism?
Ecotourism has attracted increasing attention in recent years, not only as an alternative to
mass tourism, but as a mean of economic development and environmental conservation. It can
potentially focus the benefits of tourism on the local population.
